Bulon La Mogoaw: The Supreme Moon Goddess and Diwata of Balance and Creation

Pangkatad (Invocation in T’boli-inspired language)
Bulon La Mogoaw, nefu ko te kedot sa kenek;
Dewat ku te bulan, melem ne sudew;
Kadaw La Sambad ke melem te kedet ko;
Seful ko nengew, sefus ko lumu,
Semu te tengaw, semu te keleng.
Bulon, funu mefulel, funu mewehu,
Tunay mefudul Templong Anituhan.

English Translation of Invocation
Bulon La Mogoaw, I call upon your sacred presence;
Goddess of the Moon, bring peace and light;
Kadaw La Sambad joins in your radiance;
Fill us with strength, fill us with life,
Grant us harmony, grant us balance.
Bulon, fountain of creation and renewal,
Truly guard and bless Templong Anituhan.

Who is Bulon La Mogoaw?

Bulon La Mogoaw, revered in T’boli cosmology, is the supreme moon goddess and consort of Kadaw La Sambad, the sun god. Together, they dwell in the seventh heaven, ruling as the highest divine couple. Their union symbolizes cosmic harmony, and their lineage gave birth to deities who shaped the world—gods of thunder, mountains, life, and death.

As the Diwata of Balance and Creation, Bulon La Mogoaw governs the lunar cycles, guiding humanity through transitions and teaching the rhythm of life. Her presence reflects moderation, fertility, and renewal, essential values in T’boli spirituality.

Her Role as Diwata of Balance and Creation

– Balance: The moon’s phases mirror life’s ebb and flow—rest and action, light and darkness. Bulon teaches harmony in all things.
– Creation: As ancestral mother, she sustains generative power, blessing weaving, planting, and childbirth.
– Seventh Heaven: Her abode signifies purity and supreme authority, making her a central figure in T’boli cosmology.

Bulon La Mogoaw as Guardian of Templong Anituhan

From December 20, 2025 to January 19, 2026, Bulon La Mogoaw is invoked as Tagapagbantay at Gabay (Guardian and Guide) of Templong Anituhan. This sacred lunar cycle marks her as Tulaon/Tulay ng Panahon—the Bridge of Time—delivering humanity from 2025 to 2026 with renewed hope and divine blessings.

We honor her as the Divine Midwife, guiding this passage with grace and assurance. Just as a midwife brings forth new life, Bulon ushers us into a new year, carrying our intentions and dreams into fruition.

Ritual Themes for the Lunar Cycle
1. Opening Rite (New Moon): Consecrate thresholds, offer water and white flowers, and meditate under moonlight.
2. Full Moon Blessing: Celebrate abundance with fruits, music, and dance inspired by T’boli traditions.
3. Closing Rite (Waning Moon): Release burdens and prepare for renewal with incense and prayers.

Symbolic Attributes
– Moon Halo & Silver Light: Purity and guidance in darkness.
– **Number Seven:** Completeness and divine order.
– Water & Reflection: Cleansing and emotional clarity.
– T’nalak Patterns: Creativity and dream-guided artistry.

Closing Benediction
