The Living Presence of Diwatang Makidepat in Templong Anituhan

As the cycle of Diwatang Makidepat unfolds, I am reminded of the sacred continuity of divine work within Templong Anituhan. While Diwatang Tuhan remains the guardian and guide of our land in San Jose Del Monte City—a land first inhabited by the Dumagat people—Makidepat now steps forward to continue this mission with precision and purpose.

Diwatang Makidepat teaches through action. His name alone speaks of worthiness and reverence, calling us to do what must be done with integrity. Unlike written scriptures, the Diwata reveal their wisdom through their names and the blessings they bestow upon those who invoke them. In this cycle, Makidepat seems to be cutting away what no longer serves the temple, removing distractions and drawing near those who truly belong to its sacred work.

One profound example of this is how Makidepat brought Cris to the temple, seeking healing for his father, Mang Wilfredo. Today, Cris, his father, and mother remain within the temple’s care until Mang Wilfredo regains his strength and ability to walk again. Even now, I witness the quiet miracle of healing—the temple’s atmosphere itself radiates restoration. Compared to the frail state when we first brought him from his home to the hospital, Mang Wilfredo’s appearance has improved remarkably since returning to the temple.

This experience affirms what I have always believed: the temple is not just a physical space, but a living sanctuary where the Diwata dwell and work. I pray that I may accomplish the healing of Mang Wilfredo, and I trust Diwatang Makidepat to provide the resources needed to sustain the Silvan family during this time. Every act of service I offer is my worship—a response to the divine call.

Lessons from Diwatang Makidepat

From this story, Diwatang Makidepat teaches us:

1. Discernment and Purification – Remove what does not serve your purpose and make space for what truly matters.
2. Sacred Service– Every act of care and healing is a form of worship; service is the highest offering.
3. Faith in Divine Provision – Trust that the Diwata will provide what is needed when you walk in alignment with their will.
4. Community and Belonging– Those who are meant to be part of the temple will be drawn to it; the Diwata call them in.
5. Healing Beyond the Physical– True healing begins in the spirit and radiates through the atmosphere of sacred spaces.

Prayer to Diwatang Makidepat

O Diwatang Makidepat, Worthy and Venerable One, We call upon Your name with reverence and trust.  Teach us to walk the path of integrity,  to cut away what hinders growth,  and to embrace what brings life and healing.
Bless this temple with Your presence, strengthen those who seek refuge here,  and provide for every need as we serve in Your name.  May our hands be instruments of Your grace, and our hearts remain steadfast in faith.  So be it, in the light of the Diwata.
